Meet Emilía Rún, this week’s #MagnificentMonday feature!
Emilía Rún is a lifelong functional medicine enthusiast, and kundalini yoga teacher in Venice, California. An autoimmune diagnosis at age 12 put Emilía on a path of self-healing, both physically and spiritually. Emilía focuses on gut health and encourages a high-fat, plant-based diet with intermittent fasting as a powerful healing modality. She loves to teach self-compassion as the path to ultimate freedom.
Q: What project are you working on that you’re excited about?
A: My other half and I started recording a podcast. We are having so much fun and we can’t wait to share it! (PS. I met him serendipitously because of Omica Organics!)
Q: What does your self-care routine look like and what would you like it to look like this year?
A: Every day starts with a cold shower. I use natural oils and butters on my skin – my personal favorite being Omica’s amla and amaranth serum, which works for your skin, nails, hair, you name it!
I make sure to stimulate my nervous system and move a little every day, even if I’m just working from home. On most days, that’s anything from getting on the fan bike for 10-20 minutes at a time, doing yoga and breathwork, hopping into an ice bath or the ocean – anything that gets me into my body!
Q: How do you incorporate Omica into your daily routine & what recipe are you excited to make in 2018?
A: I make almond-coconut milk every morning using sprouted almonds, young coconut meat, coconut oil, vanilla bean and Omica Organics stevia. I’ll use that milk for everything from lattes in the morning to golden milk in the evening (I use Omica turmeric, too!). As far as what I’m excited to make… there’s just so much!
