Q: What is your mantra of the moment?
A: Neverending improvement. From one perspective we are perfect just as we are. From another we are a part of the living mystery of life that spirals upwards like water and plants. We are in a perpetual evolution at the spacesuit level. There is no standing still in an advancing system – we are either moving towards chaos or harmony.
Q: What is the most recent lesson you learned?
A: Consistency is everything. The morning sunlight in the naked eyes practice has been a part of my routine for two years now. I find that the effects from it are both immediate and cumulative. That is the same with anything else, especially sleep. We often think that one night a week of staying up late won’t hurt us, but in fact it has a powerful effect on the brain that affects our cognitive abilities and emotional poise throughout the next day.
