Our Omica Shower Filter uses the oxidation-reduction process known as “redox” (an electrochemical reaction) to transfer electrons between molecules, thus creating new elements. In this way, the structure of harmful contaminants are changed into harmless particles; the chlorine atoms are converted into benign chloride ions that wash safely down the drain.

Results show that the Omica Shower Filter can reduce up to 96% of chlorine in the water.

There are no replacement cartridges needed, allowing room for up to 30% more filtration media (twice the filtration media of other shower filters). The filter lasts 8-10 months, then replace the entire filter, giving you a completely clean and sanitary unit each time.

Because the Omica shower filter is designed to filter so well, there can be naturally-occurring debris which may cause clogging and reduce flow. We suggest usage be stopped by the 6th – 12th months.

The Omica Shower Filter has a standard 1/2″ pipe thread that fits most shower connections in the U.S, Canada, and Mexico. It installs in minutes; no tools necessary. Teflon tape is provided with the filter.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What size piping does the shower filter fit?
The shower filter connects to a 1/2″ pipe with NPT/NPS threading (standard in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico). Many international customers may have BSP threading as the standard in their area. In that case, a Female NPT to Male BSPT adapter is needed.

Will I lose headroom by installing this shower filter? No, the Omica Shower Filter is specifically designed to sit above your current shower head, not below, so that maximum headroom is maintained even when the filter is in place.

Does this filter have replacement cartridges? There are no replacement cartridges needed, allowing room for up to 30% more filtration media (twice the filtration media of other shower filters). The filter lasts 8-10 months, then replace the entire filter, giving you a completely clean and sanitary unit each time.

How accurate are home test kits in testing a water filter’s effectiveness?
The majority of home test kits are inexpensive and not known for their accuracy. For instance, we have heard from customers that their home test kits shows chlorine remaining in their water. The falsely high readings they experience are because the majority of these kits cannot distinguish between chlorine and chloride.

A word about fluoride
Omica Organics does not make fluoride claims and we don’t attempt to remove fluoride with our filter. There are a number of challenges that affect the ability to remove fluoride, particularly during showers. Water used during showers is too hot, the water flow is too fast, and there is not enough space in a shower filter to hold the filtering media needed to address fluoride.
Fluoride removal requires a very, very high volume of activated alumina or bone char, so much so that it would require a filter 6’ tall and 3.5” in diameter to sufficiently accommodate 2 people showering over a 6-month period. Even then, the flow of the water would need to be low. We do have a shower filter manufactured on an individual basis that does help remove fluoride. It is large and sits immediately outside the tub. HOW TO INSTALL:

1) Unscrew your existing shower head from the wall fitting

2) Remove the red cap from the shower filter to access the teflon tape included with your filter. Apply teflon tape to wall fitting pipe threads (where your shower head was previously attached)

3) Attach the stainless steel connector of the shower filter to wall fitting

4) Apply teflon tape to the shower filter’s shower head connection (where you previously removed the red cap)

5) Before attaching your shower head to the shower filter, turn the water on and off several times to flush out any fine black particles of the filtration media. The dark particles will dissipate within the first few minutes of use, and will dispel completely after the first few days.

7) If, during the first week or so, you experience reduced water pressure, remove only your shower head (leave filter attached to wall), clean out the shower head under running water, then reattach.
